Mechanical Repairs
Metalspray
When a bearing seating or housing becomes worn it must be reclaimed by either sleeving and machining to size or by means of metalspray. This method of reclamation is also very good for worn seal seating's on pumps etc.
The worn seating is machined down and a coarse screw thread cut along the seating to be sprayed. A base layer of Molybdenum is then applied to the shaft as a primer for the top layer of stainless steel to bind to.
The shaft is cooled and then the top layer of stainless steel is applied. The final stage is then to machine the seating back to the correct diameter. This is a very efficient way of reclaiming worn seating's.
