Servo Motor Repairs
Servo motors are high precision and very specialist units. Repairing them requires a wide range of specialist skills in electronics, electrical and mechanical repair.
An understanding of how servo systems and feedback devices work is essential and what type of feedback device is incorporated. These can include absolute and incremental encoders, resolvers, tachogenerators, hall-effect and optical commutation sensors which have to be correctly aligned.
The most important aspect of the repair is then the ability to fully test and verify the operation. This is done on a bespoke test rig to simulate the conditions that would be seen on a CNC or a robot. The servo motor is run through a motion controller against a changing load on a dynamic load rig.
