Servo Motor Repairs

Servo motors are specialised units and to repair them requires a range of skills in electrical, mechanical and electronic repair.

A full understanding of how feedback devices work with servo systems is critical. These can be resolvers, tachogenerators, incremental and absolute encoders, optical and hall-effect sensors. Once the motor has been reparied, the feedback device must be correctly aligned and set up for correct operation of the unit.

The unit then has to be fully tested in order to verify correct operation. This is carried out on a bespoke test rig in order to simulate the operating conditions that would be seen on a robot or CNC machine. The servo motor is run against a changing load on a dynamic load rig through a motion controller.

At Webb-Elec we are a Mazak approved motor repairer and have the ability to repair all types of servo motors from manufacturers including:-
